This orientation includes the New Licensee Module 1: Professional Standards - Introduction to Code of Ethics.
The completion of this course is mandatory, per Article V, Section 4, of the KCAR Bylaws:
Applicants for REALTOR® membership shall complete an orientation program on the Code of Ethics of not less than two hours and thirty minutes of instructional time. This requirement does not apply to applicants for REALTOR® membership who have completed comparable orientation in another association, provided that REALTOR® membership has been continuous, or that any break in membership is for one year or less.
Failure to satisfy this requirement at one of the next two New Member Orientations - scheduled and held by the Board following the date on which provisional membership was granted will result in denial of the membership application..
NOTE: Orientation programs must meet the learning objective and minimum criteria established from time to time by the National Association of REALTORS®.
An alternative to attending Part 1 (AM only) of this class, is to provide us with a National Association of REALTORS®, New Salesperson - Code of Ethics (https://www.nar.realtor/about-nar/governing-documents/code-of-ethics/code-of-ethics-training-selection). on-line training completion certificate.
At which time, you will be able to participate in Part 2 (PM Only) of the New Member Orientation class, where you will learn about KCAR, RPAC and be sworn in as a REALTOR®.
